WEB SITE – Update and/or totally redo

 

ORDINANCE BOOKS – Update and organize all ordinance information

 

MEETINGS BOOKS – Update and organize all meeting information

 

PERSONNEL POLICY – Make sure it has been updated and make sure everyone has a copy

 

ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY – Make sure it has been updated and make sure everyone has a copy

 

RESOLUTION/PROCLAMATION BOOKS – Update and organize all resolution/proclamation information

 

VAULT – Become acquainted with stuff in vault, clean it out and organize it.

 

FILE STUFF – Move all file stuff from front file cabinet to vault.  Go through it all.

 

CONTINUITY FOLDER – Create a continuity folder outlining and describing every aspect of the job

 

COMPUTER FILES – Organize Computer files

 

PICTURES – Take pictures of all Commissioners, Police officers, etc. for the front wall and web site

 

REFERENCE LIBRARY – organize

 

FLOOD LIBRARY – organize

 

 

POLICE DEPARTMENT GOALS

 

1)     Complete the following Department Policies and Procedures:

Amber Alert

Computer Use Authorization

Marchman Act Detoxification

Harassing Phone Calls

Once all above mentioned action items are completed transfer to computer, disk, and print hard copies.  Supply a copy to each officer.

 

2)     Obtain a free patrol vehicle from Sheriff Office (2000 Ford Crown Vic toria ).

 

3)     Meet all Town residents and get updated information for town purposes.

 

4)     Meet all mandatory retraining this year for all officers.  The training includes Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, Human Diversity, and Professional Traffic Stops. The Domestic Violence and Child Abuse, Chief Cash, Commissioner Garcia, or Sgt. Spohn can administer. The remaining two are administered by the OCSO.

 

5)     Have each officer learn to speak enough Spanish to make traffic stops, field interviews, and arrest those Hispanics that can’t speak English. (Training can be assisted by Officer Woll)

 

6)     Come up with a pay scale for rank structure to include job description, shift hours, education, years of experience

 

7)     Keep same sworn personnel and change Will Curtis from part time to full time when he leaves the military in July.

 

8)     Have every officer take classes that can benefit them with extra pay. Highest amount monthly can not exceed $120.00.  The goal is that everyone take at least one class that qualifies for extra pay incentive ($10.00).

 

9)     Continue interdepartmental coordination with Maintenance and Administrative Departments.  I believe the communication and work ethics are great and we all make a great team, including the City Council.

 

10)Crack down on illegal parking in the streets.  Keep documentation on in-car computers of the warnings that are given for stat purposes.

 

11)Search for grant monies for a generator for the Town hall.
