MINUTES

SHALIMAR PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD

REGULAR MEETING – MARCH 28, 2001

 

The regular meeting of the Shalimar Planning and Zoning Board was called to order by Chairman Eddie Phillips on Wednesday, March 28, 2001 in the shed behind Town Hall at 6:30 p.m.  He also led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

ROLL CALL FOR THE RECORD:

                                    Chairman Eddie Phillips - present

                                    Co-Chair Roy Pimental - absent - ill

                                    Secretary Ursel Behnken - present

                                    Member Jimmy Jones - present

                                    Member Rick Larson - present

Others present were Tom Burns, Town Clerk, and Mr. Glenn Wagner.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

            I.          APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF THE NOV. 29, 2000 MEETING- Jimmy Jones moved to approve the minutes of the Nov. 29, 2000 meeting after a discussion about Mrs. Dengate's pool showed no more problems.  It was seconded by Rick Larson and passed unanimously.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

            I.          SWIMMING POOL AT 2570 PALM SHORES DRIVE - Chairman Phillips asked Mr. Wagner to talk about the request for his variance especially his computation for the pervious/impervious ratio.  Mr. Wagner said that the pool, 16x32', will be built by Anglo Pool.  He said he needs a minimum of 3 ft. deck around the pool for a safe structure of the pool.  He will be cutting three oaks and one pine, which are in the footprint of the pool, and he will not use a diving board.  Ursel Behnken moved to have Mr. Wagner proceed with the plans with the instructions to keep 5 ft. from the rear property line, 7ft. from the side fence, and 5 ft. from the home structure; the total square footage of pervious coverage can not drop below 46%, and the pool equipment may not be placed closer than 2 ft. from the existing structure.   The motion was seconded by Jimmy Jones and passed unanimously.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

                        April 10, 2001 - Town Commission Meeting at 6 p.m.  It is planned to hold the meeting in the new commission room.

                        April 25, 2001 - P & Z Board Meeting at 6:30 p.m.
