OLD
BUSINESS:
I. APPROVE MINUTES OF THE JANUARY 30 AND FEBRUARY 27, 2002 MEETINGS – Rik Larson moved to approve the minutes of the January 30 and February 27, 2002 meetings as written. It was seconded by Glenn Wagner and passed unanimously.
NEW
BUSINESS:
I. VARIANCE
REQUEST BY MR. WILFREDO CASTILLO, 126 SHALIMAR DRIVE FOR A SHED IN THE BACKYARD
– Mr. Castillo did not appear before the board.
There seemed to be no objections from his neighbors.
Only Mr. Cameron from across the street stopped in and said that he
basically has no objections, but he would not like for a repair business or
something similar to go in there. The
board feels it needs to be specified that no driveways are allowed to the shed
because of the pervious/impervious ratio. Rik
Larson moved to accept the request as per drawing with a distance of 3 feet
south and 5 feet east off the property line.
It was seconded by Ursel Behnken and passed unanimously.
II. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN REVIEW – Jimmy Jones said that Shalimar really does not have the problems other towns have, because we only have one thoroughfare, although it could be wider. Some older houses might be torn down, but he does not think we need to go out and spend the money for comp research. It was suggested that we have smaller workshops on the problem areas. Tom Burns was asked to let us know what other cities are doing. Rik Larson moved to take time to review the first few sections of the Comp Plan and address those at the next meeting. It was seconded by Glenn Wagner and passed unanimously.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
April 24, 2002 – Next regular Planning and Zoning meeting at 6:00 p.m. at Town Hall (if required) Glenn Wagner will not be here for the next meeting but will e-mail his thoughts.
ADJOURNMENT: Rik Larson moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:40 p.m. It was seconded by Glenn Wagner and passed unanimously.
